LEGAL FEES
We know that the cost of the defence is a major concern for our clients and their families, who are often already experiencing difficulties by having to face a criminal proceeding either as a suspect or victim.
Therefore, our firm strictly enforces the ethical rules of the Paris bar association by implementing transparent and fair invoicing policies, and asking its clients to sign an engagement letter stating precisely the costs of our intervention.
The legal fees are always discussed, at the latest, during the first meeting with a new client.
Our firm usually implements two invoicing systems for its services.
When the length of the case and the nature of our intervention are forseeable, the firm’s services are invoiced at a fixed rate covering all aspects of the defence.
When the case is complex, or when the exact nature of the services cannot be predicted at the time of our appointment, the firm’s services are invoiced at an hourly rate of between 250€ and 300€ (inc. 20% VAT).
Detailed invoices are sent on a monthly basis, listing the services provided and the number of billable hours charged.
When appointed for the first time to assist a client, our firm usually charges a retainer to cover the first hours of work of our lawyers on the case.
